A tourist was killed and nine injured when a Tata Sumo skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Gulaba in Manali on Sunday.
The vehicle was on its way to Rohtang from Manali when the driver lost control of the vehicle. A majority of the victims were stated to be natives of Kolkata.
The deceased was identified as Vishvajit (28). The injured victims were Sudhakar Roy (24), Suman Das (25), Sampa Das (24), Sanjeev Kumar (31), Salim Ali (24), Himani Das (24), Tuktuki (23), Suman Das (32) and Mithun Biswas (24).
Shalini Agnihotri, Superintendent of Police, Kullu, said the injured were rushed to a local hospital, Manali.
The condition of the injured was stable.
She said after the postmortem, the body would be handed over to the family for last rites. A case has been registered.
