Enhance monitoring to achieve transparency: Hanjura
Asks for making disposal of cases time bound
JAMMU, MAY 22: Minister for Revenue, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today asked the authorities to beef up monitoring mechanism as it is imperative to achieve transparency and accountability in working of the Department.
He was speaking at a high-level meeting chaired to review the physical and financial achievements of revenue department in Jammu division in presence of Minister of State for Revenue Shakti Raj Parihar, here today.
Financial Commissioner Asgar Samoon, Commissioner Secretary Revenue Shahid Anayatullah, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Hemant Kumar sharma, DC Jammu, K Rajiv Ranjan, DC Samba Rajinder Singh Tara, DC Rajouri Shahid Iqbal Chowdhary, DC Reasi Prasanna Ramaswamy G, DC Poonch Mohammad Aijaz, DC Udhampur Ravinder Kumar, DC Ramban T.H Ganai, DC Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana, DC Doda Bhawani Rakwal and other senior officers of the department were present in the meeting.
The Minister asked the officers to expedite the process of scanning and digitization of revenue records including mutations, maps and integrated textual spatial data, jamabandi, girdawari and settlement records.
Lone also instructed to hold regular monthly meeting of revenue officers to review the progress of public delivery. The Minister stressed upon the revenue officers to conduct regular field visits in their respective areas to listen to revenue related issues of people and their on-spot redressal.
To make disposal time bound, Lone directed the officers to hold revenue courts twice in a week so that people could get timely justice. He also directed to clear all the pending Mutations within one month.
The Minister directed for early retrieval of state land from the encroachers and asked the officers to fence the reclaimed land. He said that encroachment is a serious issue and asked for preparing a quarterly report on evacuated land by DCs and also instructed to reflect the same on APRs of revenue officers.
Meanwhile, Lone instructed the officers to complete the DPC of Patwaris within one month. He also asked to expedite the procedure to make recruitment against the vacant posts in revenue department. He further asked for organizing training courses for revenue officers to keep them updated so that they can perform their duties in effective manner.
