Class IX student stabbed to death

An 18-year-old youth, studying in Class IX and resident of Mani Majra, was stabbed to death near his house monday afternoon.

The victim was rushed to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim was a student of a government school.
According to the police, information about the stabbing incident was received around 3.30 pm following which a police team was sent to the spot.

The police said the victim, Rajesh, a resident of New Indira Colony, Mani Majra, was allegedly stabbed by Shivam, alias Lefty, who escaped from the spot after the incident.

The victim was stabbed on the chest and stomach. A PCR team lifted the victim and took him to the hospital, where he later died.

The police said the victim had a fight with the suspect at a wedding on October 13 and the incident was a fallout of the fight.

“The suspect was waiting for the victim near his house and as soon as he left home, Shivam attacked him,” said a police official.

The police have registered a murder case against the suspect at the IT park police station. The victim is survived by his parents and two sisters. Sources said the victim’s father, Vishvakarma, was a rickshaw-puller.
