Srinagar, November 23 : Train services were suspended in the valley today , following the killing of six militants in a gunfight with the government forces in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district early morning today.
“We have suspended train services in the south Kashmir following fresh advisory from police this morning,” a senior railway official said.
He said all trains from Budgam to Banihal have been suspended for “security reasons”.
However, train service from Srinagar-Budgam in the central Kashmir to Baramulla in north will not be affected, he added.
He said the decision to suspend all train runs on Srinagar-Banihal track was taken for the security of passengers and railway property.
