JAMMU/SAMBA/KATHUA, MAY 23: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Hemant Kumar Sharma today visited relief camps set up in Jammu, Kathua and Samba districts to provide shelter to the people displaced due to the cross border firing.
IGP Jammu, Dr. S D Singh Jamwal, Deputy Commissioners of Jammu, Samba and Kathua, ADC Jammu Arun Manhas, and other senior functionaries of district administration accompanied Div Com during his visit.
The Divisional Commissioner visited the shelter camps established at Londi in Hiranagar district of Kathua, at Chichi Mata Temple Complex and Radha Swami Ashram in district Samba and Government Higher Secondary School Sleahar, Arnia in Jammu district. The Div Com interacted with the displaced people and listened to their problems and grievances.
The Div Com directed concerned officers to provide all required basic facilities to the displaced people. The relief to be provided to the affected families includes pucca shelter, beddings, food, medicines, public utilities etc.
During his visit to the District Hospital Samba, Div Com enquired about the condition of people injured in cross border firing. He directed the hospital officials to provide free medical care to the injured persons, keep available adequate doctors, para-medical staff and necessary lifesaving drugs and other equipment.
During his visit to Government Higher Secondary School Sleahar, Arnia, Div Com directed concerned Block Development Officer for construction of separate toilets in the relief camps.
Later, Div Com visited R.S Pura and met with the families of deceased killed in cross-border shelling.
