DEO Rajouri takes action for MCC violation

RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 23: District Magistrate Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, who is also District Election Officer (DEO), today took strict action against the Model Code of Conduct violations here in Rajouri.

Three cases of MCC violation were brought to the notice of District Election Authority Rajouri including distribution of LPG gas connections by a Gas-agency misusing a government scheme, installation of hand-pump in Sunderbani by workers of a political party and one government employee working in Postal Department Kalakote seen in a political party meeting.

Taking serious note of the violations, the DEO ordered a comprehensive inquiry into the issue. Based upon the findings of enquiry report, it was confirmed that the commission of offence tantamount to violation of MCC stipulated by the State Election Authority. The DEO, acting promptly, ordered suspension of the license of the Gas-agency and immediately stopped the installation of the hand-pump. Whereas, the Postal Department employee has been suspended and attached with the office of ADC Kalakote during the period of suspension.

The DEO affirmed that utmost impartiality and neutrality shall be maintained in dealing with cases of violations of MCC. Action shall be initiated against all such violations irrespective of the political party or group affiliations, he added.
