SHOPAIN, SEPTEMBER 24: Model Code of Conduct has been enforced in the district Shopian as the schedule for the conduct of Municipal Elections, 2018 has been announced by the Chief Electoral Officer (State Election Authority) and subsequently also by District Election Officer.
During the imposition of Model Code of Conduct, no rally shall be allowed within the jurisdiction of district Shopian without seeking prior permission from the office of the District Election Officer.
“The government departments shall ensure that no involvement of political parties/candidates in functions like the inauguration of public utilities or in distribution of articles/goods/ and money to a particular section of society/groups till the election is completed.
“In case of any violation of Model Code of Conduct observed by public or media can inform on 9596979798,” a statement of the district administration said.
