RAMBAN, SEPTEMBER 24: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anita Sharma today launched a plantation drive here at District Police Line (DPL).
A number of fruit bearing saplings suiting the topography of the area were planted by the police officials.
Addl. SP. Sanjay Parihar, Dy. SP, Hqrs Asgar Malik, Inspector, Niaz- Ul- Hassan, SI, Rajeshwar Singh, ASI Mohd Sharif and Nafri of DPL participated in the drive.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP dwelt at length on the urgent need of protecting the atmosphere through plantation of trees. She impressed upon the participants to adhere to the guidelines circulated by various agencies concerned with the preservation of flora and fauna so that life on earth remains secure.
Erosion of land and pollution of air due to receding plantation as well as man-made disasters pose a grave threat to the human life and it is time to resort to the preventive measures, massive plantation being one of these, added the SSP.
