Barwala (Hisar): Launching a counter-offensive against the ruling BJP, former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda alleged that the BJP was trying to misguide people by implicating him in false cases while adding that he was unperturbed such charges.
Addressing a rally to kick-start the seventh phase of Jan Kranti Yatra from this Assembly segment today, Hooda said he would continue his campaign to oust the anti-people state government led by the BJP.
Lambasting the BJP government on the law and order situation, he claimed that the state has turned into a hideout for criminals as the crime graph has touched new heights. “Traders are not safe in their shops, women are not safe in their homes, and government employees are not safe in their offices,” the former CM said. He said after coming to power, he would not let the criminal elements. “I am warning these criminals—- either leave crime or leave Haryana,” Hooda said.
Hooda said the youth are dejected as government jobs are being sold like retail items during the present regime. The BJP stands exposed before the people for the false promises it had made in the run-up to the Assembly polls, he alleged.
The former CM said that his government ushered in an era of development by setting up universities, medical colleges, sports facilities, power plants, highways and roads, metro and rail lines besides transforming Haryana into an education hub. Besides, he claimed that about 20 lakh from Scheduled Castes and backward classes got benefited from the schemes launched during the Congress government.
Attacking the INLD, Hooda said caught in the family feud, the party is turned into a dal-dal (morass). He urged INLD activists to join him if they want to contribute to the welfare of the state. He said after coming to power, the Congress would increase old age pension to Rs 3,000 per month, besides bringing down the power tariff to half and to waive fee on the government job applications.
Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda said the BJP has been attacking the Congress’ 70- year rule, but it has set a record of its own as the country has not seen a government that has spread so many lies.
Bishnoi absent
Against the expectations of Hooda camp, neither Adampur MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi nor his family members attended the rally. Sources said Kuldeeep was said to be suffering from dengue and the family decided to skip the rally on the eleventh hour. “Though the two families have already sorted out their differences, they want to take some more time before showing up as team,” an aide of Kuldeep Bishnoi said. However, his associate and former HPCC chief Dharam Pal Malik was present at the rally.
Chaos on stage
Though the rally has an impressive turnout, there was mismanagement on the stage as many workers gathered there leaving virtually no space for the leaders. Hooda and other leaders, including Raghbir Kadian, Geeta Bhukkal, Kuldeep Sharma, Sampat Singh, Ramniwas Ghorela and Dharamvir Goyat, rode rath to address the gathering.
