Chandigarh: Unidentified miscreants made an unsuccessful attempt to break open an ICICI Bank ATM at Burail in Sector 45 on the intervening night of December 24 and 25, exposing the tall claims made by the UT police regarding intensified patrolling for the Christmas celebrations in the city.
The miscreants first broke the shutter of the ATM booth and then entered it. One of the CCTV cameras installed inside the ATM booth has captured a youth trying to break open the machine. “One of the suspects, who was wearing a hood, entered the booth around 2.40 am. He then tried to break open the machine. However, he left after making unsuccessful attempts,” said a police official. The incident later came to light after which the police were informed, who visited the spot.
