Hisar: A mentally upset man triggered a scare among police and security agencies in the town last night by making a hoax call about a bomb to Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The police swooped down on his residence and detained him. He was later released after medical examination, which confirmed that he was under medication for five years.

The police said the 40-year-old resident of Shiv Colony called up Rashtrapati Bhavan at 9.14 pm and said that some persons were indulging in bomb-making in his neighbourhood.

Rashtrapati Bhavan called up Haryana Police, after which the local police team tracked the caller.

During inquiry, his family said that he was mentally upset and under treatment. He had suffered a head injury and was unable to recover completely.

Surya Nagar police chowki incharge Manmohan Singh informed mediapersons that he was medically examined at the civil hospital and records of his treatment examined. The police informed the man’s condition to the higher authorities and restored the man to his family.
