Here to make India-US relations stronger: US Ambassador to US Nikki Haley

US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley who is on a two-day visit to India, visited Humayun’s Tomb today.

On her visit to the tomb, she said “It makes me happy to be back in India. It’s as beautiful as I remember it to be. We started out at Humayun’s tomb which is a reminder of how much we value culture and how much India values culture and to see the preservation that has happened here”.

She said her visit to the country would solidify United States’ love for India.

She also added that the US sees multiple level opportunities with India as the two countries can work together on the military aspect and in countering terrorism.

“We are two oldest democracies and we see those opportunities between US and India in multiple levels of ways whether it’s countering terrorism or we want to continue our democratic opportunities or we are going to start to work together more strongly on the military aspect”.

“I’m here to once again solidify our love for India, our belief in a friendship that India and US have together and our willingness to want to make that relationship even stronger. In this day and time we see more and more reasons to India and US come together”.
Haley arrived in India on June 26 and will stay here till June 28.

A press statement from the US mission in New York had said that on her visit to India, Haley  will meet with senior government officials, NGO leaders, and the interfaith community to “underscore the United States’ shared values and strong alliance with the people of India”.
