The destitute family of a Kashmiri man undergoing treatment for liver cancer in Mumbai hospital Thursday appealed J&K Bank authorities to provide them space at its guest house located at Amboli Andheri West area on humanitarian grounds.

The family of Abdul Majeed Wani from Dalgate area of Srinagar, who has been undergoing treatment at Tata Hospital in Mumbai, needs to undergo around a dozen chemotherapies at the hospital.

Due to financial constrains, the family said they are unable to get a better living place for Wani in Mumbai.

“We had managed to stay at the J&K Bank guest house for some days. However, authorities have now asked us to vacate the place. We are not affluent. Accommodation rates are high here. We are two people accompanying my father here. We just need some space for 20-25 days,” Wani’s son Shahrukh told media on phone from Mumbai.

Shahrukh appealed to the J&K Bank authorities to provide them a space at its facility located in Mumbai. “It’s our own bank. I hope it will come to our rescue in these testing times,” he added.
