Addresses Scientific, Technical Staff of IIIM

JAMMU, MAY 28: Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu, today addressed a gathering of scientists here at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu.

Earlier, Governor N N Vohra, Speaker Legislative Assembly Dr Nirmal Singh, Chairman Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali, Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta, Minister of State in Prime Minister Office, Dr Jitendra Singh and Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma received the Vice President at the Technical Airport.

A contingent of Jammu and Kashmir Police presented guard of honour to the Vice President.

Chief Secretary B.B Vyas, Director General of Police Dr S P Vaid, Principal Secretary Home R K Goyal, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Hemant Kumar Sharma, IGP Jammu S D Singh Jamwal besides officers from army and para- military forces were also present at the airport..

On his arrival at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, the Vice President addressed the scientists, scholars and other technical staff.

Minister for Social Welfare, ARI & Trainings and Science & Technology, Sajad Gani Lone, Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Higher Education Imran Raza Ansari also accompanied the visiting Vice President at the IIIM campus.

Later, the Vice President took round of the institute, inspected the testing labs and evinced keen interest in the exhibition of medicinal and aromatic preparations by the scientists of the institute and being used by various companies for commercial production.

Director IIIM, Dr. Ram Vishwakarma welcomed the dignitaries and gave a resume of the major research domains of the institute.
