Sunil Sharma inspects pace of work, Bridge site
KISHTWAR, MAY 28: Minister for Power Sunil Kumar Sharma today inspected the progress on alternate road being constructed to avoid Helmet Top( Ganga Pahadi) on Bhandarkoot – Kishtwar stretch .
The final blast triggered today cleared all the hurdles to carry on the rest of the work on road and make it fit for vehicular traffic at the earliest.
On this occasion, Sunil Sharma said that 1500 MTR stretch which will cost Rs 4.5 crore approximately and provide safe passage and smooth journey for vehicles plying towards different destinations on daily basis.
“Now with the start of work on Pakal-Dool Hydroelectric Project there will be a huge rush of heavy machinery and vehicles on the road so it was necessary to make the alternate link operational” the Minister asserted.
Meanwhile, the Minister also inspected the progress of work on Bhandarkoot Bridge being constructed at Rs 6 crore by CVPP. The project is likely to be completed by the end of of September this year.
Bhandarkoot Bridge provides only road connectivity to the half of the population of the district and it’s the only passage to cross famous river Chenab in the district thus connecting the people of the area to the other side of the world.
The Minister directed the engineers and technicians to adopt all safety majors and gears to avoid any kind of mishap while on work.
Deputy commissioner Angrez Singh Rana,SSP Abrar Ahmed Choudhary, GM CVPP Shabir Zargar and other concerned authorities accompanied the Minister.
