Awareness prog against drug abuse held

SRINAGAR, JUNE 27: Crime Branch Kashmir has started an awareness campaign to seek the involvement of general public and government departments to fight the menace of drug abuse and illicit trafficking.

This was stated in a function organized here to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Speakers present on the occasion suggested that the teachers should have a discussion among their students and discourage them from acquiring those habits which are harmful to their life and also to spread the message through social media.

It was said that drug abuse is one of the biggest social problems threatening our society, having seriously damaging effects on individuals, families and the community at large.

The programme ended with a resolution to make the entire State a drug-addiction free region.
