CGM, NABARD meets Advisor Sharma

  1. JAMMU, NOVEMBER 27:  Chief General Manager, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), P Balachandran today met the Advisor to Governor, Kewal Kumar Sharma here at his Office Chamber. He was accompanied by GM, NABARD, Suresh Chand.

During his meeting with the Advisor, the CGM, NABARD, promised to extend Bank’s support in languishing projects.

He further informed that the primary functioning of the bank is provide financial support in Agriculture and allied activities and briefed the Advisor regarding the working of NABARD in the State pertaining to Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) and NABARD Infrastructure Development Assistance (NIDA).

The Advisor was informed that an assistance of Rs 441.52 cr has been sanctioned during this year under RIDF.

He said that the NABARD has been implementing many development projects with special focus on natural resource management and tribal development in partnership with agencies working at all the field level. One such major project is under progress in the district Leh where more than 200 ha of wasteland is being converted into orchards utilizing the water from the Indus River.
