District Level National Folk Song/Dance, role play competition held

UDHAMPUR, NOVEMBER28: – District level National folk song and dance besides role play was organized by District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Kud, in collaboration with Culture Cell CEO Office sponsored by State Board of School Education, Jammu here at Government Model Higher Secondary School, Udhampur.

Around 12 teams drawn from different zones of the district participated in the competition.

Chief Education Officer, Tarsem Lal, was the chief guest on the occasion.

While addressing the gathering, the CEO said that the main focus ofthe competition was to represent diverse culture and tradition of the country through unique folkmusic and dance. He said the objective of national role play is to ensure all round development of the learners enabling them acquire knowledge, develop conceptsand add totheir physical andsocial development.

In folk dance competition, Higher Secondary School Majalta clinched 1st position while High School Sundla stood 2nd. In the National Role play, Government Middle School, Lehnu stood 1st while Higher Secondary School, Krimchi stood 2nd.

The proceedings of the programme were carried out by Renuka Nagpal.

Later, the chief guest distributed prizes among the participants.
