Convenes grievance redressal camp at several places

SRINAGAR, MAY 29: Deputy Speaker Legislative Assembly, Nazir Ahmad Khan Gurezi, visited Gurez and Tulail areas where he convened public grievance redressal camp to take stock of ongoing developmental works there to address the issues being faced by the people.

On the occasion, several delegations met the Deputy Speaker and apprised him about the problems faced by them.

Gurezi visited various villages like Wanpora, KhandiyalDawar, Markoot, Kanzalwan, Achoora, Chorwan, Barnie, Kashpat, Badugam, Saradab, Buglinder, GundgulSkiekh, Malangam and Baduab where people apprised him of their grievances. He gave the deputations a patient hearing and issued on-spot directions to the concerned officers regarding the concerns raised by the public.

Later, the Deputy Speaker during his whirlwind tour also visited Government Degree Collage Gurez, Sub-District Hospital Gurez, Auditorium Gurez Boys Higher Secondary School Dawar, Stadium, KBG School Mastan along with officials of local administration and prominent citizens of the area.

Taking a serious note of electricity outages due to defunct generators at Barnie, Badugam and Chorwan villages, the Deputy Speaker got Barnie Genset immediate restored and assured the public other gensets will be restored soon.

People of Markoot village raised water shortage issue in the area and demanded up gradation of water pump-station, Gurezi assured them that the issue will be looked on priority.

The Deputy Speaker said that the government has laid full focus on development of infrastructure and providing better civic amenities to the people of the state especially living in the far-flung areas like Gurez and Tulail adding that social and economic upliftment of the weaker sections, downtrodden, women, youth and farmers is the prime agenda of the government.
