Panchkula , July 29 – Rakesh Kumar Arya has proceeded on one year study leave to attend a Masters Program on ‘Public Policy Analysis and Public Administration’ in Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs (commonly known as the Maxwell School) in Syracuse University, New York, USA.
He has got Fullbright- Humphrey fellowship of Government Of USA. This fellowship is open for people from private as well as the govt sector. The fellows are short-listed through a very competitive process including candidates from all Continents of the world. He is one amongst the three candidates selected from India.
During one year fellowship programme, Mr Arya will work on key issues concerning weaker sections including women. His study would also focus on issues related to Women safety in city set up including female/child trafficking and violence against women. The programme includes a two-month’s assignment with United Nations along with many field visits to the related departments/organisations of USA.
Rakesh Kumar Arya is an IPS officer of 2003 batch and presently posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Administration and is also holding additional charge of IG Traffic and Highways.
