Disaster Management Authority warns of landslides in hilly regions

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) has advised people to avoid travel to the hilly regions during night due to the possibility of landslides.

Travel to the hilly regions between 7 pm and 7 am should be avoided.

The heavy rains may result in sudden landslides, landslips and floods. As there is a possibility of heavy rains till Wednesday, the Disaster Management Authority has asked people to take the following precautions.

Pleasure trips to beaches should be avoided.
Do not rest under trees or near water bodies
Avoid taking bath in rivers and streams
Do not park vehicles in hill roads and near water bodies
