Launches blacktopping work at Sainik Colony
JAMMU, APRIL 29: Speaker J&K Assembly Kavinder Gupta today launched blacktopping work of 1 Km road here at Sainik Colony sector-C Ward no 69 of his home constituency Gandhi Nagar.
The work, taken up under the state wide macadamization project, is estimated to cost Rs 13 lakh.
Interacting with the locals, the Speaker said the state government has launched massive development activities including up-gradation of existing and construction of new roads as better surface connectivity is imperative for rapid and overall development of the state.
The Speaker asserted that durable roads and enhanced infrastructure tops the development agenda of the present dispensation. “The State and central Governments have laid major focus on development of infrastructure and providing better civic amenities to the people of the state” he added.
Highlighting the importance of beautification of Jammu city for attracting tourists, the Speaker said that seven parks have been sanctioned for Gandhi Nagar constituency with open Gym facility, including Rs 4.5 Lakh for Jasrotia park located in the area. He said that Rs 45 lakh has been sanctioned for the repair works of roads for Sainik Colony Sector A and C.
Earlier, the Speaker addressed a large gathering of people at Silver Jubilee celebration function of Trikuta Nagar welfare Society. The Speaker said that developmental works of over Rs 80 lakh are under progress in the area. He added that out of 842 kilometer length, blacktopping of more than 400 km, has been completed in Gandhi Nagar constituency in past three years
Responding to the demands of the locals, Kavinder assured that whatever has been brought into his notice will be taken up with the concerned authorities for appropriate action. He also issued on spot direction to the concerned officers for the redressal of genuine demands of the residents of the area.
