Indefinite Hunger Strike Of Teachers Joint Action Committee Begins, J&K ReT Teachers Forum Sit In Protest Continues At Press Club Jammu

Teachers joint action committee  which is an amalgam of various Teachers’ Organizations including :J and k Teachers Forum , J& K ReT Teachers Forum , TEHREEK-e-Rahbar-e-Taleem Forum, J&K SSA Forum etc today on 30th August 2018 started chain hunger strike for indefinite period.

The hunger strike was organised under the banner of Teachers Joint Action Committee under the dynamic leadership of State President JKRETTF Mr Vinod Sharma and State General Secretary JKTF Mr Ganesh khajuria who are also the senior leaders of TJAC.

The hunger strike has been organised in favour of grievances of SSA/RMSA teachers and Masters which include:

Implementation of 7th pay commission in favour of SSA /RMSA Teachers and masters 
and  Delinking of SSA salary from MHRD and linking the same with state budget .
 2. TJAC leaders Who were on 24-hour fast on first day of hunger strike includes :

 Vinod Sharma State President JKRTTF, Ganesh Khajuria State General Secretary JKTF, Sukhdev Singh Sumbria State Chief Coordinator JKRTTF , Rajesh Singh Jamwal Provincial President, P.D. Singh, Gotam Singh, Ravinder Manhas, Surjit Singh ,  Ravinder Chib and Rajeet Singh.

A huge  gathering of SSA teachers and masters also held a sit in protest in support of the fasting leaders.
While addressing the Gathering Mr vinod Sharma , Mr Ganesh khajuria, Rajesh Singh Jamwal , Sukhdev singh sumbria etc lambasted the state government for its casual and biased approach towords SSA/RMSA  teachers and Masters who have been deprived of 7th pay commission and their salary has not been linked with the state budget . They said that due to this negative approach of the government more than 40000  teachers and their families are living in mental trauma. 

They said that they have been highlighting these issues for last four months from bottom to top and even held many peaceful protests both at Jammu and Srinagar but till date these thousands of teachers are mentally harassed by depriving them of benefit of 7th Pay Commission.

They said that from 3rd of September 2018 similar indefinite Hunger strike is also going to be organized at Srinagar under the banner of TJAC under the dynamic leadership of TJAC Chairman Abdul Qayoom Wani and they will not lift such hunger strike till 7th Pay Commission benefit is given to these teachers and masters and if our grievances are not taken seriously we will be forced to intensify our stir and for any sort of confrontation and law and order problem the government would be personally responsible.
