Police have arrested three men after 18 kg of poppy and gold worth Rs 10 lakh were recovered in Jammu and Kashmir,

In Jammu district, a Ludhiana man was arrested from Manda area and recovered 12 kg of poppy. A case has been registered against Surjit Singh, a police official said.

In Udhampur district, a police team recovered six kg of poppy after intercepting a car on a tip-off. During sustained interrogation, the arrested driver, Jamat Ali, broke down and revealed committing a theft at a house in Dandiya area of Udhampur and stealing gold and jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh.

Based on his information, another accused, Alam Din, was also arrested and three motorcycles worth Rs 2.5 lakh were recovered, they said.
