Srinagar, September 30: A policeman was killed after Militants attacked police station Shopian in South Kashmir on Sunday early morning.
Reports reaching media said that some militants opened indiscriminate fire on Police station Shopian today morning resulting in injuries to a cop.
A police officer when contacted said that militants hurled a grenade followed by firing on the police station. The officer said that one cop, manning the gate sustained serious injuries in the incident and was taken to nearby hospital where he succumbed. The officer identified slain cop as Sakiq Mohi Din of Zawoora.
As per reports the militants managed to escape and also decmaped service rifle from the slain .
