DODA, DECEMBER 29: The arrangements for smooth and enthusiastic celebrations of the forthcoming Republic Day were today reviewed here at meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Anshul Garg.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dil Mir Choudhary, Chief Planning Officer Parshotam Kumar, CEO, DYSSO, Principal GHSS, Xens of PDD, PHE, and R&B, DM JKPCC besides other district officials and representatives of Police, IRP and CRPF attended the meeting.
During the meeting, it was revealed that the main function will be organized in the Sports Stadium Doda where VIP will unfurl the tricolour and take the salute on the march past contingents of J&K Police, IR 5th Bn, CRPF, FPF, NCC and school children, besides a colourful cultural programme will also be presented by the school children in collaboration with Cultural Academy Doda.
The meeting was apprised that the main function shall start with the Shenaivadan by the Information Department.
Various other necessary arrangements were also discussed in the meeting which includes security, drinking water, cleanliness and sanitation, seating arrangement, traffic management, power supply, fire tenders, refreshment etc at the venue.
The DDC directed Xen PDD Doda and EO Municipality Doda to replace/ repair all the street and floodlights in the town, besides ensure installation of adequate lighting at the venue of celebration.
DC also constituted various committees for making necessary arrangements for the events.
It was said that the Republic Day full-dress rehearsal will be held on 24th January 2019.
