DDC Rajouri holds Public Darbar at Peeri

RAJOURI, DECEMBER 29: District Development Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad today held a public grievance redressal camp at Peeri in which issues pertaining to common masses were raised.

Issues pertaining to road connectivity, electricity and water supply, adequate manpower in health and educational institutions, payments under MGNREGA, SBM, creation of rural infrastructure, sanctioning of ambulance, coverage under social welfare and self-employment schemes were put forth by various public deputations.

Sarpanches, panches and Residents of Parori,Rehan, karhad, Dhar ,Gakhrote,Tralla and other areas attended the public meeting and apprised the DDC about problems being faced by them.

While replying to queries raised by the public, Assistant Commissioner Development Rajouri Akhter Qazi said that he had directed the Block development officer to clear the pending dues under MGNREGA within one month.

Related to PMAY survey, he said 38000 new beneficiaries have been enrolled and the list would be circulated for the verification within days among the sarpanches and panches.

While assuring the public of timely redressal of issues raised by them, the DDC said numerous initiatives are underway to strengthen the roads, PDD and PHE infrastructure in the area besides ensuring the provision of other amenities of life.

DDC directed Chief Education Officer Rajouri for resolving various schools related issues.

He said it will be ensured that under SAUBHAGYA electrification of left out households is completed at an earliest.

Regarding the construction of various internal roads, DDC informed that the concerned department will project them under languishing projects for the funds.

He directed the officers to start the blacktopping work on the KotedharaPeeri road.

In order to redress the issues of water shortage, DDC directed the Xen PHE to plan projects on water supply schemes so that the shortage of drinking water in the area could be solved.

DDC informed that in order to sensitize farmers about the latest technology and about high yielding seeds variety, the Agriculture and Horticulture departments in collaboration with other concerned will organize a farmer awareness camp in Peeri soon.

He also informed that to enrol all the left out beneficiaries under old age or widow pension, the Department of Social Welfare Rajouri will organise a mega awareness as well as enrollment camp within 10 days.

Later, DDC inspected the under construction Girls Hostel and directed the concerned agency to expedite work on it for its timely completion.
