UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER-31:- To Commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel celebrated as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National unity Day) a run for unity was organized by District Police in collaboration with District Administration here today.
The marathon was flagged off by District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar.
Senior Officers of police and Civil Administration besides, a large number students, Policemen and prominent citizens participated in the rally.
The rally “Run for Unity” commenced from DPL Udhampur, which after passing through the Dak Bunglow, Via NHAI, MH Chowk, Matador Stand, Town Hall, and finally culminated at Mini Stadium Udhampur.
DDC highlighted the contribution made by Sardar Vallabh Patel for unification of India and said that Sardar Vallabh Patel made strenuous efforts to unite various territories of India under one flag. It is the result of his vision that the dream of united India has come true.
A pledge was administered by District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar to all the participants on the occasion.
Likewise, all Sub-Divisions, Tehsil Headquarters, Education Institutions, of the district also observed National Unity day.
