The Income Tax department on Monday has ordered to attach Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani’s residential flat in Malviya Nagar, New Delhi.
In an order, the IT department said the property was attached as Geelani has failed to “pay the sum of 3,62, 62, 160 for the AY 1996-97 to 2001-02”.
“It is ordered that your are hereby, prohibited and restrained, until the further order of the undersigned, from transferring or charging the mentioned property,” read the order.
