PGI Director leads the cleanliness drive by administering Swacchata Pledge to the employees

Chandigarh: Today, a cleanliness drive was initiated by Prof Jagat Ram, Director PGI by administering Swacchata Pledge to the employees of the Institute. Director PGI was accompanied by senior functionaries of the Institute including Prof A K Gupta, Medical Superintendent, and Shri Kumar Abhay, Financial Advisor among others. He exhorted the employees to devote hundred hours of community service towards cleanliness every year and further encourage others to do the same. Prof A K Gupta, Medical Superintendent reinforced the virtue of cleanliness and urged the employees to make it a part of their daily routine to observe cleanliness and motivate others to do the same.

PGIMER Chandigarh is observing Swachhata Pakhwada from 1st April to 15th April, 2019 as a part of Swachh Bharat Mission. During the drive various activities will be taken up in order to sensitize the patients and the visitors towards the need to maintain cleanliness and sanitation so that the cleanliness campaign becomes a community drive. Slogan writing competition,drawing competition, distribution of sanitary napkins amongst adolescent girls and women in slum areas,sensitization regarding menstrual and personal hygiene for girls of marginalized sections of the society and talks on solid waste management will be undertaken as a part of this campaign. PGIMER has roped in NGOs to collaborate for special cleanliness drive that will be held during the fortnight.
