At least 19 persons detained during night raids in south Kashmir’s Pulwama

The fresh arrests come just days ahead of Parliamentary Elections in the twin districts of Shopian and Pulwama.

Srinagar, May 1: At least 19 more persons were picked up by the security forces from three villages of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday night.

A police official said that the forces raided Gudoora, Newa and Parigam villages of the district in the dead of night and detained 19 persons.

The official said the arrestees were being quizzed for their alleged role in various stone pelting incidents in the area. 

On Monday night as many as 21 persons were picked up by the forces from Murran village of the district.

The fresh arrests come just days ahead of Parliamentary Elections in the twin districts of Shopian and Pulwama.
