Shimla, July 1:Three people, including two children, died and at least 5 were critically injured after a bus plunged 100 feet into a gorge at Jhingri in Shimla on Monday morning.

The driver of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus died on the spot and two children succumbed to injuries when they were being taken to a hospital.The bus was carrying students of the Convent of Jesus & Mary.
The bus had to navigate a narrow path because of the vehicles parked alongside the road—causing it roll down into the gorge at the lower Khilini nallah, according to eyewitness accounts.
Locals had pulled out the victims from the rubble and rushed them to IGMC, Shimla. The condition of the injured children is serious, according to sources.
An irate mob smashed the windows and windscreens of over 20 vehicles parked on the road side saying that they led to accident.The police has arrested two persons.
