Dr. Owais takes up rates fixation, directs officers to routinely check markets

Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Dr Owais Ahmed ,on Monday held a meeting of the officers regarding fixation of rates of essential commodities in District Shopian.

In the said meeting Deputy commissioner highlighted the issues concerning rate fixation and asked officers to implement existing laws on ground in letter and spirit.

He directed the concerned officers to make sure that rate and weight of bread sold in markets meet the standards set already in this regard with Rs 10 for three traditional breads.

The deputy commissioner directed officers to exercise routine market checking to make sure rate schedule issued is not violated by any means.

Dr Owais taking cognizance of the non functioning of existing slaughter house directed officers to make the slaughter house functional from now onwards.

He also took stock and supply position of food grains and other essential commodities available in the Shopian.

To make the system foolproof the Deputy commissioner asked officers to submit weekly report of market checking and rate fixation with photographs and documents reading ground reports.

Meanwhile additional deputy commissioner Shopian, Shabir Hussain Bhat, assistant commissioner revenue Shopian, Tehsildar Shopian, District food safety officer Shopian, assistant director FCS and CA Shopian and assistant controller legal metrology Shopian were also present in the meeting.
