Chandigarh, April 1: Two miscreants, including a BCom graduate, who run PGs in the city, have been arrested for a snatching reported in September last year.
Victim Surinder Kumar had reported that two motorcycle-borne miscreants had snatched his mobile phone while he was going to the Nayagaon market. A case of snatching was registered at the Sector 11 police station on September 22. The police said the snatched mobile phone was put on surveillance and call detail records of the number used in the mobile phone were scrutinised. Investigation revealed that the phone was being used by a juvenile.
The police later tracked the suspects and managed to nab them from the Sector 49/50 small chowk. “A juvenile and a youth, identified as Deepak Kumar (21), who was residing at Baltana, were arrested,” said a police official. The police said the juvenile had a criminal past. The suspects were remanded in one-day police custody.
