Kangan youth missing, family appeals him to return home

Srinagar, May 2 : The family members of a youth who has gone missing from Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district have appealed him to return home.

Officials have identified the missing youth as Shafat Ahmad Malik (25) son of Muhammad Yusuf Malik.

The family members said that Malik had left for SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for a medical check-up on April 28 but did not return home.

The police said that the family lodged a missing report on April 30 at Kangan police station.

The family members told media that Malik was working as a salesman at a footwear shop in Srinagar but had recently left the job to extend a helping hand in domestic works.

“Shafat last talked with his elder brother Shahid at around 2 pm the day he left for a medical check-up. Since April 28 his cell phone is continuously powered off,” a family member said.

Station House Officer Kangan said that the police was making strenuous efforts to trace the missing youth.
