Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday visited the family of a slain militant in restive south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Reports said that Mufti visited the family of slain Hizb ul Mujahideen militant Mohammad Idress Sultan at his native Safanagri village today afternoon.
After commiserating with the family, Mufti said that police should stop ‘harassing’ the families of the militants.
“I know our police is a disciplined force and they don’t want to harass the families of militants but from somewhere they get such directions” she said, adding that let them fight against the militants but the families should not be involved in it.
This is the second visit of Mufti to a militant family this week. Earlier, she visited a militant family in Patipora village of Pulwama district on Sunday.
