DC Kargil takes stock of dev works under Engineering Sector
KARGIL, JUNE 03: Deputy Commissioner and CEO Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary today chaired a meeting to review the physical and financial progress of the developmental activities under Engineering Sector in the district.
Executive Engineers of R&B II, PHE, I&FC and Mechanical Division, besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.
The DC was informed that seven major schemes were approved under CRF from 2016-17 to 2018-19 at an estimated cost of Rs 12474.49 lakh of which an expenditure of Rs 2695.34 lakh has been incurred up to ending March 2019. It was further informed that of these schemes three stand completed while as rest are under different stages of completion.
Pertaining to the works under NABARD, the meeting was informed that of 13 schemes under RIDF XVI-XXIV under execution in the district at an estimated cost of Rs 4248.71 lakh four schemes have been completed while as work on rest of the schemes is going on in full swing.
The DC also inquired from the officers about the issues, shortcomings and bottlenecks in the execution of works on ground and directed them to complete the ongoing works and schemes well within the set timelines.
The meeting was informed that an amount of Rs 138 lakh stands as liability on account of land compensation under PHE sector, Rs 19 crore under R&B sector and about Rs 70 lakh under I&FC sector.
The DC directed officers to ensure that no new works are taken in hand unless the ongoing works are not completed in all respects. He also asked officers to submit the details of contractors who have been allotted different works besides the details of tenders floated.
He also desired that no liability is created and all disputes related to works are resolved in a timely manner so that the schemes are completed well within the perimeters of the limited working season in the district. He also asked officers to prioritize the schemes for clearance of liabilities in a phased manner.
The DC exhorted upon officers to work with added zeal and dedication to ensure proper implementation of developmental schemes on ground while taking due care of quality parameters so that benefits percolate to the masses in the most satisfactory manner.
