DDC Anantnag reviews Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2019 arrangements at Nunwan, Chandanwari base camps
ANANTNAG, JUNE 3: The District Development Commissioner Anantnag Khalid Jahangir today reviewed the arrangements put in place at Nunwan and Chandanwari base camps for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2019, in a meeting at Pahalgam.
CEO PDA, CMO Anantnag, SE PDD, Xen R&B, representatives of SASB and other officers attended the meeting.
Threadbare discussions with regard to smooth and successful conduct of the Yatra 2019 were held in the meeting. The meeting was informed that all the arrangements are being put in place at the base camps well in time, before the commencement of the Yatra.
The DDC directed CMO Anantnag to ensure all the medicare facilities including oxygen cylinders at 16 locations, life saving drugs, availability of doctors and paramedics round the clock at all the halting stations & Ambulance services.
The CMO informed the meeting that 12 doctors will be made available at Medical Aid Cams at Nunwan. SE PDD was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply facilities, installation of lights, supply of Gensets for Sheshnag, Panchtarni and Holy Cave.
The DDC also directed the Forest department to cut down the Russian Poplars at the camping sites. He also instructed macadamization at Pahalgam town. Regarding the snow clearance of the track from Chandanwari to Holy Cave, the CEO PDA was directed to speed up the work on snow clearance at MG top.
The Tourism department was also asked to start the construction of 21 tourism shelter sheds for Yatries after the clearance of track. The DDC directed the Xen R&B to macadamize the road from Aishmugam to Pahalgam, at an earliest, besides installation of 580 water connections for washroom points and 146 PPs within ten days by the concerned department.
The DDC later visited Nunwan And Chandanwari Base Camps to access the availability of basic requirements including functioning of toilets sanitation of camping sites, Lungar sites & S TP site besides, drinking water and power supply and other facilities.
At Chandanwari, the DDC accessed the status of Lungar sites, entry gate, 25 bedded hospital, Sanitation, power & drinking water facilities, functioning of toilets and other facilities to ensure smooth conduct of the Yatra.
