Chandigarh, July 5:A major fire broke out in a sweets manufacturing unit, Chandigarh Sweets, in the Industrial Area, Phase I, late tonight.
The Fire Department received a call at 9.51 pm. Over 15 fire engines were pressed into service and were battling the fire till the filing of this report.Anil Kumar Garg, Chief Fire Officer of the MC, said an employee of the department was injured after being hit by a fire engine accidentally.
He was admitted to the PGI. The fire created panic in the nearby Colony No. 4. Garg said no casualty had been reported.
