Pregnant Kashmiri woman’s harrowing travel to hospital in heavy snowfall

Srinagar, February 7: Residents of Namblan village in Sheeri area of Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday carried a pregnant woman on a make-shift stretcher for around 7 km as ambulance could not reach there due to heavy snowfall since Wednesday.

In a video, that went viral on social media, a few villagers are seen carrying the pregnant woman in the make-shift stretcher amid heavy snowfall to a primary health centre in Sheeri.

The heart-rending video shows how tough life can be for the common man in the hills due to heavy snow.

The woman was later referred to district hospital in Baramulla and her condition is stated to be stable.
