Jammu students shine in Class X exams

Jammu, May 6: Like the Class XII CBSE exams, students from various schools in the city have excelled in the Class X annual examination, the results of which were declared on Monday.

Twentytwo students of JK Public School, Kunjwani, secured more than 95 per cent marks. Savneet got the top position in the school with 97.6 per cent, followed by Priyanshi (97.4 per cent), Nikhil Vermani (97.4 per cent) and Sana Gupta (97.2 per cent). Of the 168 students, 127 scored above 75 per cent marks.

Shubham Pandey of Army Public School (APS), Akhnoor, who secured 96 per cent marks attributed his success to his parents and school staff. “It could not have been possible without the support of my family and school staff,” he said

“In fact, I was expecting to score 98 per cent, but still I am satisfied with 96 per cent”, said an elated Shubham, son of Naik Mithilesh Kumar.

Hailing from Bihar, Shubham said he wanted to become an officer in the Indian Air Force. “I will opt for the non-medical stream in the higher secondary because I want to appear in the National Defence Academy exams to become an IAF officer to serve my nation with pride,” Shubham said.

Aditi Singh, daughter of Havildar Pankaj Kumar, who scored 96.2 per cent, has shifted to Chandigarh after her father’s posting. Avniash Kour of the same school got 95.8 per cent.

As many as 138 students of the APS, Akhnoor, appeared for the Class X exams. Sixteen of them secured more than 90 per cent marks while 62 got distinction.

Students of the APS, Jammu Cantt, also did well in the exams. Aman Yadav was the school topper with 97.2 per cent marks while Neha Menia got 96.60 per cent. Nikita Yadav has scored 96.20 per cent marks.

While Aman scored 100 in the SSC, Neha got 100 in maths.

Out of the 120 students who appeared for the exam, 35 scored above 90 per cent marks.

Lavanya Sharma of Birla Open Minds International School clinched first position in the school with 96.6 per cent whereas Tathagya Jamwal (96.2 per cent) and Abhay Sharma (95.6 per cent) got second and third position, respectively.

Other students namely Amitoj Singh and Haider Ali Manhas secured 95 per cent, Manyata Bhagat 92.4 per cent, Adhishree Bargotra 92.2 per cent, Abrar Ahmed Raza 91.6 per cent, Archie Batra 91.4 per cent, Arywali 90.8 per cent and Sharika Arshad 90.2 per cent.
