Ammunition recovered from cowshed in Doda in Jammu and Kashmir

Bhadarwah , June 7: Army and the state police recovered a cache of ammunition during a search operation in Bhaleesa area of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir last night, officials said today.

An Army spokesman from Rashtriya Rifles headquarters based at Bhadarwah said that acting on an input about the presence of fire arms and possible movement of suspects, soldiers of RR from Gandoh along with sleuths of Police from Police station Gandoh launched a joint operation in Chilli-Balla area late last night. 

“During the search operation of Dhoks and houses, at the first light on Friday, a cache was busted and arms and ammunition was recovered from the cow shed of a house owned by Abbas Ahmed of Chilli-Balla,” he said.

The spokesman added that during search of the cow shed 64 live rounds of AK-47, one round of SLR, one Motorola radio set, Batteries, beside parts of AK-47 and 12-bore gun have been recovered.

A case under section 7/25 of Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Gandoh and further investigation is on, said the spokesman.
