Bandipora: DEO finalizes poll day arrangements
BANDIPORA, APRIL 08: District Election Officer (DEO) Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza Monday convened a meeting to finalize the arrangements for the Poll day. Bandipora district will go for polls in phase-I on April 11.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reyaz Ahmad Beigh, Deputy Election Officer Bilal Mukhtar, Assistant Returning Officers, nodal officers of various teams constituted for various election related arrangements.
The meeting discussed the arrangements put in place at polling stations for the smooth conduct of the polls. It was given out that basic minimum facilities including drinking water, electricity, toilet, cleanliness, facilities for specially-abled voters have been provided while transport facilities for dispatching the poll staff to different locations have also been put in place. Officials informed that adequate number of vehicles have been put in service to ferry the polling staff from respective collection centers upto the polling stations and back.
The officers also finalised the arrangements with regard to boarding and lodging of poll staff, transport, polling station set up, communication, compliant disposal mechanism, mock poll, reports on formats, polling agents, 3 special reports, report regarding start of polls, collection of material, close of poll, lighting, illumination at strong rooms, dispatch of EVMs and other related arrangements for smooth conduct of the polls.
On the occasion DEO Bandipora stressed on the officers to maintain close coordination with each other to ensure smooth conduct of the polls.
