KUPWARA, JANUARY 09: District Development Commissioner, Khalid Jahangir today reviewed the functioning of One-Stop-Centre established at District Hospital, here at a meeting of the concerned.
One-Stop-Centre aims to help the women affected by violence in private and public spaces, within the family, community or at workplace. These centres have been established throughout the country under centrally-sponsored scheme of the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development wherein the victims can seek help in filing FIRs besides legal, psychological, moral and medical support.
On the occasion, a detailed account of the project was presented through a power point presentation wherein it was given out that an NGO namely Kashmir Research Institute of Education and Solar Technology (KRIEST) is spearheading the One-Stop-Centre in district Kupwara. It was also informed that the Centre will have representatives from health, education, administration, police besides resource persons from various departments who will assist the aggrieved persons.
Stressing upon all stakeholders to work in coordination for the successful functioning of the Centre, the DDC assured every kind of possible assistance for making the Centre more effective, robust and vibrant. Moreover, he directed for providing qualitative services for the successful operationalisation of the Centre.
ADDC, JD Planning, CMO, President Bar Association, functionaries of various other departments besides representatives of some NGOs were present on the occasion.
