The Rashtriya Swayamasevak Sangh (RSS) leader Chandrakant Sharma who was critically injured after a gunman opened fire on him in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir has died, officials said.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu spokesperson Arun Gupta confirmed Singh’s death to Greater Kashmir. “Chandrakant ji succumbed to injuries in Kishtwar,” Gupta told media.
Sharma’s personal security officer was also killed in the attack at the district hospital Kishtwar.
Curfew has been imposed in Kishtwar, Doda and Bhadarwah town as a precautionary measure, said a police official.
