DODA, JANUARY 11: District Election Officer, Anshul Garg today issued an activity calendar, starting from January 11 to January 19, 2019, to educate, train and facilitate the young voters including future voters under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign.
First Orientation/ awareness programme was held today here at HSS Kilothran and HSS Gandoh under the supervision of Tariq Ahmed Qazi, Nodal officer SVEEP and presided over by SDM Gandoh Pritam Singh Thapa. A large number of students participated in the programme.
As per the calendar, similar activities will be held at HSS Malothi and HSS Berruru on January 12, HSS Thathri and HSS Jangalwar on January 14, HSS Bhaderwah on January 15, HSS Assar and HSS Khaleni on January 18 and HSS Bhagwah and Kastigarh on January 19.
The objective of the orientation/ awareness programme is to educate the targeted populations about voter registration, electoral process and related matters through hands on experience.
Targeted populations will also be familiarized with EVM and VVPAT and educated about robustness and integrity of the electoral process using EVMs along with demonstration of VVPAT to be introduced in upcoming Parliamentary election 2019.
The programme is also aimed at to harness the potential of ELC members for carrying the electoral literacy in communities, especially young voters in the age group of 18 to 19 and future voters in the age group of 16 to 18.
District Complaint Cell (DCC) has also been established at DC office Doda with 1950 as toll free number. Any grievance related to electoral roll or any query related to election can be redressed via toll this free number. The DCC shall receive calls during office hours between 10am to 5pm.
