Thousands joined night-long prayers on following Friday of Shab-e-Meraj

Srinagar, April 12: Despite chilly weather conditions due to rain, thousands of people joined night-long special prayers in shrines, mosques and other religious places on the occasion of following Friday of Shab-e-Meraj in the Kashmir valley.

Devotees, including woman and children, joined night-long special prayers in different religious places in the Kashmir valley. The main congregation was held at Asaar-e-Sharief Hazratbal shrine, on the bank of famed Dal Lake, which houses the Holy Relic of Prophet Muhammad.After night long prayers, people had the glimpse of Holy Relic after Fajr (morning) prayers this morning. 

Devotees will have “Deedar”(darshan) of the Holy Relic after every prayers during the day.Authorities had made all arrangements, including transport, electricity, water and medical for the devotees, who had come from different parts of the valley and outside. 

Hundreds of vendors had put up their stalls around the shrine, selling eatable and other goods.Special night-long prayers were also organised at other shrines, mosques and Jamia Masjids in the valley.
