Mumbai, July 12:Actress Sonakshi Sinha, who is gearing up for her upcoming movie ‘Khandaani Shafakhana’, was recently visited by UP Police at her Mumbai residence.
Reports suggest that Moradabad police knocked Sonakshi’s doors on Thursday in connection with a case of cheating filed against her. UP Police was assisted by officials from the Juhu police station in Mumbai. They reached Sonakshi’s home to take her statement regarding the cheating case filed against her, but the 32-year-old actress was not present at her home.
The police waited for a while, but left without taking Sonakshi’s statement. The cops are likely to visit the actress’s home again on Friday. However, Sonakshi in a tweet on Friday has said the organiser is only trying to make a “fast buck”.
She wrote: “An event organiser who couldn’t live up to his commitment obviously thinks he can make a fast buck by maligning my crystal clear image in the press. There is full cooperation with the authorities from my end for the investigation to be conducted. Would request the media not to fan these bizarre claims of an uscrupulous man.”
Last year, an event organiser had accused the ‘Dabangg’ actress and four others of accepting payment but not performing at an event in Delhi on September 30, 2018.
Pramod Sharma, owner of a Moradabad-based company India Fashion and Beauty Award, registered the complaint against them in Moradabad on November 24, 2018.
Pramod said she had accepted Rs 37 lakh to perform. When she failed to turn up at the show, the audience vandalised the venue, causing the company huge losses. He even claims he spent an extra Rs. 9 lakh on the actress’ accommodation and travel.
In response to this, the Bollywood actress’ management agency had said the organiser was using the media to release false and manipulated facts and that if he didn’t stop at this, Sonakshi and her team will be forced to take legal action.
