Prominent Kashmir cleric and vice president of Jamiat Ahlihadith Mushtaq Ahmad Veeri was booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) on Thursday.
Mushtaq, who hails from Veeri village of Bijbehara was arrested during a crackdown launched by the government against the religious and political leaders from his home on February 22 and lodged in Bijbehera police station.
He was later shifted to district jail Mattan in Anantnag district.
An official said that the authorities booked him under PSA on Thursday and shifted him to Kotbalwal jail in Jammu.
