Chandigarh, June 13:The UT police have arrested a Dadu Majra resident for sexually exploiting a 15-year-old girl.
According to the police, the suspect, identified as Satya Narayan, runs a tent house and the victim’s father works as a labourer there. On Wednesday, the suspect went to the victim’s house to hand over some payment to her father.The police said on finding the girl alone, the suspect sexually exploited her. The victim narrated the incident to her father following which the police were informed.
A case under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 354-A (sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered against the suspect at the Sarangpur police station.
The suspect was produced before a court which sent him to judicial custody.
